Govt incentives

Yes, you still get a decent amount of Government subsidy in the form small scale technology certificates also known as STC’s.  To make solar energy systems even more affordable, the Federal Government offers financial incentives through solar rebates and other programs.

Greencell Energy will help you access these rebates by providing a point of sale discount. We then claim this portion back after your installation is complete. We will process all of the paperwork, all we require form our customers are a few signatures.

1- Small scale certificate (STC)

Federal Government is still offering a decent amount of solar rebate in the form of  Small Scale Technology Certificates which makes it more affordable to purchase a solar system. calculation of the numbers of STC’s you receive is very simple.  When you purchase a solar PV system, you’ll receive a number of Small Scale Technology Certificates which you can use towards the payment of your solar system. Simply click here to calculate how much STC’s in your area:

This means that the rebates available could end abruptly so if you’re considering solar, now is the time to get quotes so you secure the generous rebates available.

The scheme awards a number of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) to households and businesses that install solar panels. The size of the solar power system determines the number of STCs you get. (Find out more about how STCs are calculated.)

Each STC has a dollar value. Your solar retailer redeems this for you in a government regulated market. Your solar retailer then deducts the value of your STCs from the cost of your system.

Queensland – solar rebates and incentives

Queensland also helps people to buy solar power systems and home batteries. Find out about the Queensland battery program here.

Queensland householders can also apply for interest-free loans of up to $10,000 and grants of $3000 to purchase batteries or combined solar-battery systems.

There’s also a Queensland interest-free solar loans scheme to help residents install solar panels. This is available to those who get the Family Tax Benefit B.

Feed-in tariffs in Australia

The Australian electricity retailer lets you sell the extra solar power generated
by your solar system, while the selling rate is low to compare to buying power
from grid thus it is beneficial for a family to use as much power from solar during day time. Not everyone is home during day time so If you can’t use much of your solar power day time there is an option for storing it in battery unit for later use but again this involves installing hybrid inverter with battery unit which more expensive then a stander solar system.

But recent 2018 review of power retailer and distributor by Australian government has put pressure on retailer to provide a fair price for solar power fed into grid by homeowner. How much you get paid by the feed-in tariff not only varies from state to state, but between retailers. To find out more about how much you’re likely to get,  go to our feed-in tariff page.

Remember, feed-in tariffs can change, so check the latest solar feed-in tariffs with your electricity retailer.

Is Solar power right for your property?

With rapidly changing technology and mass production of solar products around the world solar panels becoming cheaper to buy. The average size panel in the market currently is between 280 watts and 380 watts so a 6kW system will comprise around 22 – 25 panels.

Panels of this size are around 2m x 1m in dimensions so you would require about 22m2 of unshaded roof space to fit a system this size.

Greencell Energy can organize a free site inspection to see if solar is right fit for your property. Our team comprises experienced solar power professionals with in depth knowledge of all Australian solar conditions through industry. This allows us to have the ability to custom design a solar power solution to fit any residential or commercial requirements and in turn generate them increasing savings year after year.
All of Greencell Energy’s licensed installers & designers are accredited by the Clean Energy Council (CEC), which provides customers peace of mind knowing that they have undergone extensive professional training and follow the industry standard.
